The Palace Resturaunt

I went there today and ate a bacon double cheeseburger, fries, diet coke. $8.47. And it was huge and extremley good! Service was great. I will be back. Wished I would have taken a picture of the plate when it was brought to me. I highly recommend to eat there.

Thanks for the report.  I hope to eat there on my next trip to Gibson County.

Good for whomever is running the Palace.  Have heard good things about it.

In the old days it was a poolroom.  Various colorful people patronized the place, but most are no longer in Princeton, by death or otherwise.

Is smoking allowed in Gibson County establishments?

Sincerely,

Mary Harkins

I know, Mary...I'm still amazed that the Palace is no longer a males-only establishment.  But good for them, I say.  I know of three different people who have said that the food is good.  It's nice to know that I would be welcome as a customer.

Aunt Granny --  Unless you made it to the Palace this week-end, I beat you to it.  The food and amenities were superb!  I suspect there were folks there from the former Gibson County Talk and Gibson County Now.

My niece took me down for the Quilt doings at St. James, just South of Haubstadt.  The class was superb.  I learned good techniques, and was already a long, if not accomplished quilter.

We drove by Jennifer's consignment shop.  It was not open for business, but through the plate glass windows it appeared to be well stocked and quite inviting.  I hope my niece will take me over again before I die.

Sincerely,

Mary Harkins

Yes, you beat me to it.  I probably won't get down there until later this month, when I head to Gibson County for the U-Pick blueberries at Decker's, North of Patoka.

I do know a young girl who works at the Palace, and she says the food is good.

I don't quilt, but my mother was quite a seamstress, and my grandmother quilted her entire life.  I'm fortunate to have some of those old quilts that my grandmother made.

You will have a $10 gift certificate awaiting you at the Palace.

If it is not there, just let Mary Harkins know!

Aunt Granny --

Have you made it to the Palace yet?  If so, did they have your gift certificate?

Mary Harkins was there for breakfast a few days ago.  It was superb.

Mary, I've only been to Princeton once in the recent past, and The Palace was closed that day.   I'll be back soon, and am looking forward to the experience.  Thank you!  I'll give a report, once I get in there.

Mary,

I was in Gibson County over the weekend.  I did make it in to the palace, where I enjoyed a nice lunch courtesy of YOU.  I ordered a tenderloin sandwich, slaw and a coke, and left the rest for my waitress.  Thank you very much!  They asked to make a copy of your letter, for them to keep.  I have the original, and am sharing it with my family.

Thanks again!
